Bud Billiken Parade 2009
On Saturday, August 8th CORE reached out to students, parents, and teachers at the annual Bud Billiken Parade, the largest of its kind in the nation. CORE members engaged community members in support of neighborhood schools and handed out free school supplies. Tens of thousands participated in this year’s parade, over one million lined the parade’s route, and tens of millions watched it on television. CTU leadership was not present.
