CORE's presence during our fight at Phillips HS against a proposed turnaround was invaluable. They were there at every meeting, formal and informal, often in mass, to offer their support and their counsel when asked. CORE even organized several meetings to help us organize a resistance. Working with CORE members I never felt patronized or pitied. I felt a solidarity that was one of the highlights amidst the angst of this struggle.
